The poster is “Grindelwald – 1001 plaisirs d’hiver” (“Grindelwald – 1001 Winter Pleasures”), created by illustrator Nicolas Volkoff and printed in 1990. Rather than presenting Grindelwald as the serene, glamorous Swiss ski resort you'd expect from traditional tourism advertising, Volkoff essentially created a Where’s Waldo–style alpine disaster zone. The scene is deliberately crammed with tiny jokes and incidents: people skiing and falling, sledding, skating and playing hockey; cable cars and chairlifts everywhere; fondue and après-ski; snowball fights; a helicopter; hunters; animals; a horse-drawn sleigh; and even references to Snow White's seven dwarfs.

The conceit is that Grindelwald offers an almost ridiculous number of winter pleasures, and Volkoff illustrates that literally by trying to squeeze seemingly all 1,001 of them into one image.
