1930 - Centenary of Belgian Independence - Designed by Hubert Dupond

$3,200.00

This original chromolith poster was printed in 1930 for the Exposition on Belgian Independence; The First International Exhibitions of Sciences and their teaching. It was thanks to the 1930 Liège Exhibition that essential public works were decided upon and started, which the Liège region had been demanding for a long time, or which had become necessary as a result of the war. The people of Liège were indebted to the 1930 exhibition for important improvements which, on the one hand, promoted the industrial activity of the region by providing it with better health and working conditions, and on the other hand, embellished the beloved face of their city, destined to become a great modern city from then on.

Hubert Georges Desired Dupond was born in Antwerp in 1901 and died 8 decades later in 1982. He studied with the arrtist Jean Delville and Emile Fabry at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels. He later taught advertising illustration techniques and ultimately dedicated his life to his art.

Dimensions: 27”x33” - Approx 900-1000pcs - We will remove a major portion of the white in the sky and perhaps use the upper portion of the statue as our edge until midway down and the city background appears.
